I'm Dr. Yuly Mera
A bilingual licensed psychotherapist (LCSW), fluent in English and Spanish, located in Florida. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of South Florida and earned my Doctorate with a clinical specialization from the University of Kentucky. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida, where I have the opportunity to contribute to the education and development of future mental health professionals.
As a psychotherapist, I am dedicated to empowering individuals to succeed and feel deeply committed to supporting those who are struggling with their mental health. In my practice, I use evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. Two of the core methods I rely on are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It provides practical tools and exercises to challenge negative thinking patterns and promote healthy coping strategies. Solution-Focused Therapy, on the other hand, emphasizes clients’ strengths and focuses on identifying practical steps toward positive change. This approach encourages a forward-looking mindset and helps individuals build on what’s already working in their lives.

The biggest strengths I bring into our sessions come from years of working with diverse populations across various community settings. I have substantial experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. These experiences have allowed me to develop a broad skill set and a deep understanding of the challenges many individuals and families face.
